Rare Mercer Pottery Serving Platter

Rare Mercer Pottery Serving Platter

$32.00
This platter was made in Trenton New Jersey. It measures 14” wide. It features 4 groups of Red Roses. The blank has embossed swirls on the rim. The Mercer Pottery company existed between 1865 and 1930. They mostly made plain white china until 1873 when they began having artists paint their china. Mercer claims to have the first semi vitreous porcelain in the USA. The platter is in surprisingly great condition for such an old platter. There are no chips cracks or crazing, only light utensil marks from use. It is a wonderful example of antique American pottery.
